Out of School Hours Care

We acknowledge the pressures and hectic schedules that affect today’s families and lifestyle and offer an After School Care and Vacation Care program.

There is also free supervised play at the School from 7.30am on school days.

ROCKHAMPTON GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE GOALS ARE TO:

  • Provide all children with a safe, secure and inclusive environment.
  • Promote the value of play and recreational activities which meet the developmental needs and interests of all children.
  • Encourage children to be responsible and show respect to others and their property.
  • Help children enhance their life skills through appropriate programming and stimulation activities.
  • Utilise and encourage the use of special skills, expertise and diversity of our families, community and staff members.
  • Provide a secure and stimulating environment for staff.
  • Encourage and provide professional development for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of OSHC.
  • Comply with all legislative requirements by providing ongoing training and regular reviews.

APPLICATIONS FOR (OSHC)

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is available for students from Prep to Year 9. For your child to attend OSHC, all forms (Application Form and Parent Handbooks are available in the attached document links) must be filled out and submitted before attending. Children cannot attend this facility unless an OSHC application form has been received, even under emergency situations. If you are not currently enrolled at OSHC and wish to have this service available to you, we ask you to fill out an application form from Girls Grammar Reception or the ELC. In the event of your child needing to go to Out of Hours School Care and the application form has not been received, we cannot accept your child under any circumstances.

An adult is required to sign out children who are attending After School Care on each occasion.

Afternoon Tea Menu for Term 1 2017

After School Care (ASC)

After School Care is for students from Prep to Year 9 and is located near the Early Learning Centre on the Corner of Agnes and Denham Streets.  Access is from the car park at the bottom of the School in Little Athelstane Street (off Denham St). All students are to be collected and signed out of the facility by an authorised adult.

After School Care Program operates Monday to Friday from 3.00pm to 6.00pm.

Each child is encouraged to eat cut pieces of fruit before being able to select a snack item such as sandwiches, cheese and crackers, biscuits, muesli bars and yoghurt.  The children are given water to drink.

Students from Prep to Year 9, who are attending After School Care, will be met in the OSHC area by a member of the After School Care team.

The children will be provided with afternoon tea and will participate in their elected activity be it homework or outdoor / indoor activities.

Vacation Care

Vacation Care is for students from Prep to Year 9 and is located near  the Early Learning Centre on the Corner of Agnes and Denham Streets.  Access is from the car park at the bottom of the School in Little Athelstane Street (off Denham St).  All children are to be escorted and signed in and collected and signed out by an authorised adult each day.

The Vacation Care Program operates Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.30pm.

You must provide your child with a packed lunch every day and snacks for morning tea and afternoon tea, a screw top bottle of water that can be refilled, a wide brimmed hat, closed-in shoes and a spare set of clothes for emergencies.

Daily Activities:  Each day your child will have access to various constructive equipment, music, home corner, outside games, quiet areas, art and craft. We reserve the right to change activities due to unforeseen circumstances.

Excursions:  Costs for all excursions will be added to your daily fee.
