A limited number of Girls Grammar General Excellence Scholarships are offered in bands which span three years.

  • Middle School – Years 7 to 9
  • Senior School – Years 10 to 12

Girls Grammar Scholarship are:

  • awarded in recognition of Academic Excellence, Leadership and Community, Sporting and The Arts
  • a percentage reduction in the tuition fees.
  • not transferable across these bands but may be applied for again in Year 9 for the Senior School.

New enrolments only

Students may sit an academic scholarship examination with the enrolments team either on tour or internally at Rockhampton Girls Grammar. Applicants who qualify for Academic Excellence will be sent a Round 2 Application Process which must include an Application for Enrolment form and the $55.00 application fee. Applicants who do not qualify for an Academic Excellence are encouraged to apply in one of the other categories and will be sent a Round 2 Application Process which must include an Application for Enrolment form and the $55.00 application fee. Your application must be completed by 22 April 2019 and will then be assessed and discussed at the enrolment interview with the Principal in Term 2. Students may apply for multiple categories but will only receive a scholarship in 1 category. All offers will be finalised by 28 June 2019.

Existing Enrolments

Students currently enrolled at RGGS can apply for scholarship for Year 7 (applications taken in Year 6) and Year 10 (applications taken in Year 9) entry only.[1] Students need to provide notice of intent by 5 April 2019 and will follow the Round 2 Application Process (new applications) or Scholarship Renewal Process (existing scholarship recipients) due 22 April 2019.[2] All offers will be finalised by 28 June 2019.

 2020 Scholarship Dates

Round One – Term 1 2020 

Enrolment team administers academic assessment on tour and on site and delivers enrolment presentation.

Round Two Academic Excellence – Applications due APRIL 21 2020 

Student sends in application accompanied with their most recent report card and any other supporting documentation to support their application. The level of scholarship offered is based on academic merit and determined by a points value system based on the evidence in the application.

Round Two Leadership and Community Excellence – Applications due APRIL 21 2020 

Supporting documentation to show leadership and community excellence. This may include a letter from a community organisation or evidence of an awarded position of leadership. Students will also be required to submit their most recent report card. The level of scholarship offered is determined by a points value system based on the evidence in the application.

Round Two The Arts Excellence – Applications due APRIL 21 2020 

Student sends in application accompanied with supporting documentation to show their Arts Discipline achievements. This may include evidence of results from recent competitions or eisteddfods. Students will also be required to submit their most recent report card. The level of scholarship offered is determined by a points value system based on the evidence in the application.

Round Three – Interviews and Offers 

All applicatrions will be reviewed and students will be invited to attend an interview with the principal either internally or via teleconference. Scholarship offers will be presented to the board for consideration in May 2020. Offers will be sent June 2020.
