Harmony Day Celebrations

On Wednesday 21 March 2018 the Year 11 cohort organised and celebrated Harmony Day with the School. This year’s theme was ‘Everyone Belongs’ and that message was conveyed throughout the mornings cultural activities. Explored continents were Oceania, North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia where each girl participated in interactive activities to raise cultural awareness and diversity. Some of these activities included soccer in South America, traditional female New Zealand dancing in Oceania, Superbowl and Day of the Dead face painting in North America, pin the tail on the donkey and creating jewellery in Africa, Lantern making in Asia and the making of toga’s in Europe. For the first time in RGGS Harmony Day history the Year 11 girls organised a whole school #HARMONYDAY photo to be taken on the oval from the top level of Jackson House. Everyone got involved and enjoyed being part of this experience.
Many thanks go out to the Year 11 cohort and Mr Tree for organising this wonderful occasion as well as the groundsmen and everyone else involved in making this day a reality. You can see more photos on the website gallery https://gallery.rggs.qld.edu.au/ .
