Girls Grammar celebrated IWD in many ways in 2018:

We had an IWD Assembly on Wednesday 7 March as we continue to Press for Progress to achieve gender equality. Well known journalist for the Morning Bulletin and Rockhampton Girls Grammar Dux of 2011, Michelle Gately spoke of the importance of the supportive sisterhood sustained at Girls Grammar.

Our Prefects attended a Zonta IWD Breakfast on 8 March, along with Michelle Landry and many other influential women fighting for gender equality.

The Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, of which RGGS is a member, held a breakfast on 8 March that was hosted at the Hastings Deering premises. During this time students took part in a live feed of the Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Resources Awards for Women (RAW) event from Brisbane. Students were thoroughly entertained by the keynote speaker, Antarctic Expedition leader Rachael Robertson, as she relayed her experiences as a woman in a leadership role in very testing circumstances. Senior management, apprentices and former award winners were also on hand to chat with the girls.   #IWD #pressforprogress
