Bulls ‘n’ Barrels 2018

November 30, 2018 at 2:23 pm

Early in Term 4, the RGGS Bulls and Barrels Rodeo is eagerly awaited by our students and school community. The rodeo is one of the main fundraising activities of the P&F each year. This year was another success, with over 1000 people attending the evening, raising funds for the CQ Cancer Council and the RGGS Parents & Friends Association projects.

The rodeo is run in conjunction with the Great Western Hotel Bull Riding Series. The highlights were our very own Payten Sibson winning the Girls Grammar Buckle in the Barrels Racing followed by the spills and thrills of the Tony Dunne Plumbing Open Bull Ride. Francesca Dooley (Year 2) graciously donated her third place winnings to CQ Cancer Council. What a wonderful gesture Fran!

There are many people to thank for a great night. Noeleen Yates co-ordinated the event, the many volunteers from school, parents, competitors and RGGS Staff. The event raised over $2,200 for CQ Cancer Council. It is very expensive to host a rodeo and would not be possible without generous sponsors like; Tony Dunne Plumbing, Autobarn, MB Plant Hire, Capricorn Star, Rothery’s Buses, Jenkins Pty Ltd, City Printing Works and Coaltrain. Thank you to all sponsors for your support.
