Speech Night 2018

December 3, 2018 at 1:34 pm

Our 127th Speech Night was held on Friday 16 November. It was an opportunity to acknowledge our prize winners across Sport, Culture, Citizenship and Academics. For the first time in my 16 years at Girls Grammar, no prize winners were announced until the evening, leaving a heightened sense of anticipation until the last minute. The feedback received has been positive. Congratulations to Amiee Leanne who was awarded dux of the school.

We were treated to performances by Year 6 doing an excerpt from their Musical, Year 4 to 6 Choir, Molti Voce, Bella Voce and Taylor Busbridge with a contemporary dance piece.

We welcomed back 2006 Valedictorian Lacey-Jae O’Halloran as guest speaker who shared what she has learnt since graduating.

A highlight was recognising our incoming prefects and the announcement of Tehila Rasin and Lucy Brown as 2019 Head Girls was greeted with rapturous applause.

Finally, we farewelled our Seniors for the final time with both joy and sadness as Kasey Davies delivered her valedictory speech. Good luck in your future endeavours.
