March Boarding Bulletin

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

This week our RGGS Community was saddened to learn of the sudden death of one of our boarding staff, Mrs Amanda Marshall. Amanda was a kind and gentle person, who gave of her time generously. In knowing Amanda over the last two and half years, it was obvious she was committed to caring for other people. She will be missed and remembered by our Community and particularly by our boarders.

During the last couple of days, I have spoken to many parents and I will continue to call all our boarding families, to assure you our boarding routine has been restored and the girls are quite settled. Although there have been times of sadness, the girls have been busy with exam block, assessments and extra – curricular. They have been vigilant in meeting their commitments.

This weekend will be our “Give Back” weekend, where our boarders will be busy preparing and delivering cakes to our local emergency services centres. This is an opportunity to recognise the extraordinary work our Police, Fire and Ambulance personnel do in our local community. On Saturday night we will have a Boarding Community BBQ at the pool and on Sunday there will be a beach day at Yeppoon. I am hoping this weekend will be an opportunity for the girls to relax after a big week.

End of term is upon us and I ask that all leave arrangements be entered into the boarding leave system. This will ensure all leave arrangements are recorded and transport can be arranged where necessary.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, and if there are any concerns regarding your daughter, please do not hesitate to call me.
