Interhouse Performing Arts Competition 2019

After four weeks of intensive singing, dancing and acting rehearsals, students from Year 4 to Year 12 participated in the annual Interhouse Performing Arts Competition on Thursday 19th of September. This year’s theme was Women Empowerment with songs about women supporting women made famous by some exceptionally powerful ladies including:

Man! I Feel Like a Woman – Shania Twain (Downs House)

Roar – Katy Perry (Paterson House)

Born This Way – Lady Gaga (Smith House)

Respect – Aretha Franklin (Williams House)

All four houses definitely brought their energy, passion and a side of creativity to the stage with close competition between each team. Filled with enthusiastic trumpet and saxophone playing, fiery baton twirling, extraordinary tap dancing and exploding confetti canons, the judges had some tough decisions to make.

Congratulations to Smith House for taking out first place for this competition!

2nd Place: Downs House

3rd Place: Paterson House

4th Place: Williams House

Well done to all the houses for their efforts, commitment and teamwork throughout this term to make this competition possible. Each performance was outstanding!
