We have tried something new this week at Girls Grammar boarding. I sent the girls a secret challenge to do during the week. Different challenges for the different floors. The biggest challenge for the girls was keeping it a secret from the other girls. All of these challenges asked for the girls to reach out in some way to others in our boarding community. I asked the girls to email me what they had done and which girls had they interacted with. The responses have been heart-warming. You may like to ask your daughter what she did for her challenge this week. I will continue to set these challenges for the girls as the feedback has been very positive.
This week we will also start our dance & drama group. This group is the brainchild of one of our new Year 11 boarders. She suggested that the students that study dance or drama get together to practice their performances with the support of their peers and with supervision from our boarding staff. This is a great way to have the girls with similar interests interact with girls of different ages. We have also planned a pool party, our park run and shopping outing as well as our first trip to the cinema in a year. The girls are excited to choose a movie and head out with their friends. There’s never a dull moment in boarding. Have a great weekend, we will be enjoying ours!
