Celebrating Achievements: Girls Grammar's Young Stars at the Ekka

Congratulations to our talented students, Jess, Tilly and Shenaya, for their outstanding performances at the Ekka.

Jess had the privilege of competing in the Junior Judges Prime Cattle Championship after earning her place in the Regional Finals. Whilst she didn’t place, she spoke beautifully and did a wonderful job.

Jess along with Tilly and Shenaya, took part in the Junior Paraders competition. Tilly triumphed over 65 competitors to win her age group, while Shenaya and Jess made it to the finals out of 46 participants. Jess not only won her age group but also earned the prestigious title of CHAMPION Parader at the Ekka!

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and dedication.

Shenaya shared her thoughts on the experience:

'My name is Shenaya, and I recently attended the Royal Brisbane Show. It was a fantastic opportunity where I learned a lot and had a wonderful time. The experience was exciting, from waking up at 4.00am to enjoying late-night snacks. On Thursday, I participated in the Stud Judging. Although I didn't get called up, I was still grateful for the experience. Later that day, I competed in the Junior Paraders competition in the main arena. After several laps around the ring, I made it to the final, going up against participants with much more experience than I had. I thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the heifer I led in that class. Overall, it was an amazing week, and I gained so much knowledge.'
