I am excited to share highlights from our 133rd Annual Speech Night, hosted at the Pilbeam Theatre on Wednesday night. The evening was a celebration of our girls’ accomplishments across Sport, Citizenship, Culture, and of course, Academics.
A wholehearted congratulations is extended in particular to Dale Lewis, who was bestowed the honour of being named Dux of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School. Our guest speaker, Dr Natalia Anderson, a graduand from the class of 2012, not only reflected on her time at Girls Grammar but also imparted insightful words about her life’s journey to becoming a passionate doctor, advocating for regional and rural medicine.
The night was enriched with performances by Bella Voce, Molti Voce, Senior Dance, our Concert Band, and our Year 6 Music Class. However, one of the evening's most memorable moments was the transition of leadership roles from outgoing to incoming prefects. We express our gratitude to all prefects, with special acknowledgment given to departing Head Girls, Kara-Lee Buckton and Georgia Priddle.
The introduction of incoming Head Girls Cadence Wone De Rungs and Ella Davison was met with well-deserved appreciation, marking a new chapter for our student leadership. We bid farewell to our Seniors in their final presentation, and emotions ran high during Tylah Mitchell’s moving Valedictorian Speech.
For a comprehensive list of all prize winners, please refer to the Speech Night Program. However, we would like to spotlight the First and Second in Year awards below. Congratulations to all the talented individuals who were recognised for their outstanding achievements.
