As a dedicated boarding staff, our goal is to create an environment that feels like a second home - a place where our boarders feel safe, supported, and connected. We understand the unique challenges that come with living away from family and the importance of maintaining a balance between being active, engaged, and having time to recharge.
One of the most crucial aspects of our role is to ensure that our boarders remain active and engaged. From organised sports and group activities to creative arts and social events, we strive to provide a variety of opportunities that cater to diverse interests. These activities not only help keep our boarders physically active but also foster friendships, create memories, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
However, we also recognise the value of downtime. In today’s digital world, downtime often means scrolling through social media or engaging with screens. While this can be a way to stay connected with friends and family, it's not always the restorative break our boarders need. True downtime involves moments of reflection, rest, and relaxation - time that allows the mind to reset without the constant stimulation of notifications and screens.
To support our boarders in finding this balance, we encourage mindfulness practices, quiet reading times, creative outlets, and access to peaceful outdoor spaces. We also emphasise the importance of healthy sleep routines, understanding that rest is vital to overall well-being.
As parents, your support is invaluable. We encourage conversations at home about the importance of balanced downtime and exploring screen-free ways to relax. By working together, we can ensure our boarders have the tools and opportunities to thrive, create lasting memories, and maintain their well-being.
Thank you for your continued partnership and trust.
For those families who haven’t already done so can you please put End of Term leave in for your daughters .
Have a fabulous weekend.
