Getting to know our Girls Grammar School Community: Meet our School Counsellor Louise Ford

Updated: 17 hours ago

In 2025, we warmly welcomed Mrs Louise Ford to the Rockhampton Girls Grammar community. Taking on the important role of School Counsellor, Mrs Ford brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for mental health and wellbeing.

With roots in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and much of her life spent in Cape Town, South Africa, Mrs Ford brings a wealth of experience and a fascinating journey to our school. She emigrated to Australia in 2016 with her husband and two children, Tim and Robyn, and has since embraced life in rural South Australia and New South Wales before settling in sunny Central Queensland.

Mrs Ford’s professional journey has been as dynamic as her personal one. Her career journey includes teaching, interior design, and event management, where she worked on major events for globally renowned artists like Elton John, Snoop Dogg, and Shaggy. After teaching in Australia’s rural towns, she discovered her true passion: supporting mental health and wellbeing.

Now part of the Girls Grammar team, Mrs Ford is dedicated to empowering young women, helping them grow into strong, resilient, and confident individuals. Her enthusiasm and commitment are sure to inspire all members of our community.

If you see Mrs Ford around the school grounds, don’t hesitate to say hello and give her a warm welcome!
