Term 2 has been a fantastic term filled with activities, making memories and proud achievements. The following is a list of the things we have participated in this term that provided memories with our friends in our boarding community:
shopping every week
ANZAC Day Dawn Service and March
Cultural fun day
Yeppoon Beach lagoon
socials
braided hair and sold items we made
National Boarding Week which included so many activities including taking primary schoolers on tours of the boarding houses
attending Girls Grammar Formal walk-through
movies at the cinema
State of Origin on our big screen
Rocky Show outing
a scavenger hunt at the gardens
We actually did more and the girls have had a fabulous time getting involved in what is on offer. We are proud of our girls and their achievements – Saphron competing at the world swimming trials, rowers, show team successes, netball finalists, report card triumphs, the list goes on.
The girls were marvellous serving and helping our chef at the recent Girls Grammar Race Day. I feel like a proud parent when ‘our’ girls are out being clever, confident and connected. They are making their own families proud as well.
We have also farewelled Hannah (Year 9), who is returning home to the Netherlands after a semester of experiencing our Australian schooling system, making cherished friends along the way. Heidi (Year 9) is moving home after a number of years here at Girls Grammar; we hope she has a terrific time back with her family.
We are also sadly saying goodbye to Miss Brianna Hawkswood. We would like to wish Brianna all the best in her new Teacher Aide position here at Girls Grammar next term.
Wishing all our families a fantastic winter break and we look forward to welcoming you all back to boarding on Sunday 16 July from 1.00pm.
