100 primary school students were thrilled to be part of the Movie Night on Friday, a heartwarming event that lit up our school community with laughter, popcorn, and all things 'The Lion King'!
The beloved classic, with its iconic characters and timeless tale, created an enchanting ambiance that captivated all attendees, young and young-at-heart and made for a truly unforgettable evening.
No movie night is complete without delectable treats! We delighted in crispy, buttery popcorn that filled the air with its irresistible aroma. Quenching our thirst, we sipped on delightful poppers - those little bursts of flavour that brought joy to every sip. And who could forget the mouthwatering sausages and chocolates that satisfied even the heartiest appetites? Our taste buds were in for a treat!
Behind the scenes, our dedicated Primary Council members, along with our hardworking primary staff, came together to organise this spectacular event. Their efforts ensured that every detail was in place, from arranging the bean bags and cushions, setting up, to ensuring the movie played flawlessly. It was a true collaboration, showcasing the strong bond between our school's dynamic student leaders and our committed staff members.
The event was more than just a movie night - it was a chance for students to create cherished memories together. Laughter echoed throughout the room as children shared in the joy of Simba's journey. The sense of community was palpable, reminding us of the power of coming together for a common purpose. The Primary Council members are now collaborating what are some necessary items to purchase for our students.
Another purpose for this night was to raise funds for the Pyjama Foundation. The Pyjama Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the educational outcomes of children living in out of home care. They recruit volunteers, known as Pyjama Angels, who are carefully paired with a child in care with the goal of building a consistent relationship and ultimately helping change the direction of their life path. Pyjama Angels spend one hour a week visiting their Pyjama Child, playing educational games, reading aloud, and most importantly, having fun! These volunteers are a mentor, friend and are sometimes the only consistent relationship in the child's life due to movement.
We even have a Pyjama Angel here at school.
