Prep – Year 3 Athletics Carnival
We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent Prep to Year 3 Athletics Carnival, which took place on Tuesday. The entire school grounds were filled with energy, excitement, and a true sense of sportsmanship as our students showcased their remarkable talents and competed with unwavering determination.
From the moment the starting whistle blew, it was evident that our students had been training diligently, as they sprinted, jumped, and threw with remarkable skill and agility. It was a joy to witness the smiles on their faces as they crossed the finish line in their sprint race, cheered on by their teammates and supporters.
The support from classmates, teachers, and parents was truly heart-warming, creating an environment where every participant felt valued and encouraged. The day was not only about the competition; it was also about fostering a love for physical activity and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, staff, and prefects who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the carnival. Your dedication and support made this event possible, and we are immensely grateful for your commitment to our students' well-being and enjoyment.
Lastly, we want to congratulate every single student who participated in the Athletics Carnival. Your passion, hard work, and sportsmanship were truly inspiring. Whether you achieved a personal best, cheered on your peers, or simply had a great time, your involvement contributed to making this event a resounding success.
We look forward to building on this incredible experience and fostering a love for athletics and teamwork in the years to come.

Year 4 – 12 Athletics Carnival
The Girls Grammar War Cry kicked off our Year 4 – 12 Athletics Carnival last Tuesday at the CQ University oval. It was a perfect day for athletics and the girls showed their skills and determination to fight it out for house supremacy.
The track events left us in awe as our students displayed lightning-fast speed, blazing down the track. The relay races were a true spectacle, with teams working seamlessly together, passing the baton with precision and determination.
The field events were equally captivating, as our students showcased their strength, technique, and determination. The long jump saw incredible leaps, the high jump reached impressive heights, and the shot put and discus throw demonstrated remarkable power and precision. The atmosphere was electric as students cheered each other on, celebrating personal achievements and fostering a sense of camaraderie among all participants.
There were some excellent displays of talent and skill with new records being set and some close age champion battles. Congratulations to Dale Lewis and Ruby Bell for breaking individual records in the 16 years discus and 13 years javelin respectively. Teamwork and seamless transitions were the key for the Williams 12 Years Relay team who also broke their relay record.

The Year 12 Day Girls v Boarders Tug-of-War is always a highlight and even with help of teachers, the day girls were heavily outmatched. Congratulations to the boarders who will receive a cake baked by Mrs Krehlik as their prize.
We must not forget the invaluable team spirit that was on display throughout the day, with Smith taking home the House Spirit award in a unanimous decision from the judges.
The most sought after award is the Champion House award. This is a combination of points gained by all athletes across both athletics carnivals. This year the congratulations go to Paterson.
1. Paterson 2349
2. Williams 2321
3. Downs 2030
4. Smith 1591
