ACER SEW Survey
In today's education landscape, the significance of prioritising students' social and emotional wellbeing has surged. Schools are no longer solely focused on academic achievements; they now embrace the responsibility of shaping not only young intellects but also nurturing their hearts. Acknowledging the vital role emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills play, educators recognise the need for a comprehensive educational approach. By fostering these attributes, schools empower students to thrive and effectively navigate life's intricacies with strength and understanding.
On Thursday 24 August, students from Prep to Year 12 engaged in completing the ‘Social and Emotional Wellbeing’ survey, with the purpose being two-fold;
1) to assess the current social and emotional wellbeing of our students and
2) to gather data and information to best inform us on where we can adjust and improve.
As stated by Buecker et at., (2018), ‘overall social and emotional wellbeing enhances intrinsic motivation, decreases disciplinary problems, increases academic achievement, improves school satisfaction, and leads to flourishing of individuals’; here at Girls Grammar we value and recognise the importance of monitoring and supporting the wellbeing of our students in the aim to ensure we can foster their development into young adulthood.
