The past four months have been a spectacular season of junior touch football for our Girls Grammar teams, competing in the Under 6s, Under 8s, and Under 10s divisions. Each Saturday morning saw our girls take to the field with enthusiasm, while Tuesday and Thursday afternoon training sessions were filled with energy, fun, and camaraderie.
Our youngest team showed incredible growth and determination this season. In their grand final match, the girls narrowly lost 7–6 in a nail-biter, an impressive improvement considering St Mary’s Possums defeated them by 13 tries earlier in the season. Competing as an all-girls team against mixed squads, their effort and teamwork were truly commendable.

After a late charge with two wins and draw in the last three rounds, the Under 8s had a thrilling conclusion to their season after drawing 5-all in a hard-fought game; they secured the win by scoring the first try. Their victory over Wolfpack Blue, who had dominated their earlier meeting with a 11-try win, was a testament to their development and resilience this season.
Our Under 10s battled valiantly but fell to Rebels Black 7–3 in their last game. Despite the result, the team showcased their growth, putting up a strong fight against tough competition throughout the season. While the final result didn’t go their way, this team has some exceptional young players with speed and skill to burn, and the future of touch at RGGS is bright.

A massive thank you to our dedicated coaches, Mrs Horwell, Mrs Richards and Mrs Simpson, whose expertise, encouragement and passion made this season such a success. Their hard work ensured the girls not only improved their skills but also had a fantastic time along the way.
As the season comes to an end, we celebrate the progress, sportsmanship, and enjoyment shared by all our teams, and want to thank our parents for giving your daughters the opportunity to play.
