Pink Day & Pink Gate Challenge

Last Friday, Girls Grammar held the annual School’s Pink Gate Challenge in conjunction with Pink Day. Each year, these events coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community.

It was an early start for our incoming 2023 Prefects as they inflated more than 100 balloons and decorated the School’s front gate in all shades of pink in readiness for the start of the school day. The outcome was amazing!

With all of our students dressed in pink, a few classes took the opportunity to head up the hill for a photo with the freshly painted Ag Science cow and balloon backdrop.

Our 2023 Prefects also did a fantastic job of recruiting other schools in the region with Emmaus College, Heights College, Capricornia School of Distance Education, Glenmore State High School, Rockhampton State High School and The Rockhampton Grammar School all participating.

Shannon ‘Pinky’ Nevin will be judging all schools’ entries in the next week with the winner of the most outstanding gate winning a $500 voucher donated by Doblo’s Farmers Market. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
