Ponytail Chop – the Strength of our Girls Grammar Community!

I am thrilled to share an incredible story of unity and generosity that recently unfolded within our school community. In a remarkable display of compassion, our students, parents, teachers, and staff joined forces to raise over $8,000 for the Ponytail Chop, a noble cause dedicated to providing wigs for cancer patients.

This heartwarming achievement speaks volumes about the strength of our school community. Together, we've demonstrated that when we come together for a common cause, we can make a significant impact. The funds raised will go a long way in helping those battling cancer regain their self-esteem and confidence during a challenging time in their lives.

The success of this fundraising campaign is a testament to the values we uphold here at Girls Grammar, fostering empathy, kindness, and the importance of giving back. The dedication and enthusiasm of our students were particularly inspiring. It's important to remember that this achievement is not just about the dollars raised, but the sense of community that was cultivated. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of those in need, just as we have done with the Ponytail Chop initiative.

Thank you to the hairdressers from Dulcet and Floss’ Hair and Beauty for volunteering their time on the day to tidy the hair of the students who donated. Your time is greatly appreciated.

I look forward to seeing if we can match or do better in 2024 – well done everyone – I am proud to be a part of the Girls Grammar community.
