Prep – 3 Athletics Carnival
The Prep – Year 3 Athletics Carnival was a fun-filled day on Monday, 17 June. Squeals of delight could be heard across the Girls Grammar oval as our youngest students tried their hardest with their running, jumping and throwing events. The atmosphere was electric, with a large contingent of parents in attendance and offering their amazing support.
While everyone did a fantastic job of cheering and participating, a special congratulations goes to Downs for their impressive event results and house spirit.
To determine the House Champion and House Spirit awards, results from both the Prep – Year 3 carnival and the Year 4 – Year 12 carnival are combined. This year, the overall House Champion placings saw Williams taking out the Athletics award with the following points and placings:
1st Williams - 2892 points
2nd Paterson - 2742 points
3rd Downs - 2584 points
4th Smith - 1821 points
Congratulations to the Williams athletes on a spectacular performance.
The House Spirit award, while closely contested with Downs, went to Smith House. Their perseverance and determination to ensure everyone felt supported was exceptional. Well done, Smith!

The 10 Years – Open RDS Carnival is taking place at North Rockhampton High School on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Students who have met the RDS qualifying standards have been invited to attend this carnival, and we wish them all the best for selection.
Oztag All Schools
The Oztag team will depart for the Queensland Oztag All Schools Tournament on Thursday 25 July. Our team is composed of girls from Years 9-12 and will be competing in the Open Girl’s division. They will take on the best teams in the state and have been working hard throughout Term 2 in preparation for the challenge that lies ahead. We would like to wish the girls all the best for their 3-day competition, we know you will represent Girls Grammar with pride.
