Last week, the Year 10 cohort attended their 'Getting Ready for Senior' camp at The Haven, Emu Park. On the first day at camp, the knowledgeable Dr John Fry provided our Year 10 students with an overview of senior schooling and subject selection processes, followed by individual consultations with each of the girls to help them plan their senior years and set them up for long-term success.
On days two and three of camp, Dr Judi Newman, a leading expert in educational neuroscience, delivered a program designed to help our girls understand the science of learning, the teenage brain and its development, how to build confidence and leadership qualities, and practical strategies to improve thinking, memory and learning.
Camp was not all about academics, though. Some of the highlights, according to the girls, included: 'the self-care session with Ms Jarrett; the view of the sunrise; sunset walks on the beach; seeing dolphins in the bay; and the amazing food!'
