Capital Works Update
Welcome back to our School Community! We are excited to share the latest updates on the ongoing capital works projects happening across our school. Here are some of the recent developments in each project:
Transformer: The 500kva transformer upgrade is currently with the Department of Resources and State Land Titles to process the road reserve. We have also booked Ergon to install the transformer between May and July.
Upper Paterson: The engineers have completed the scope of works for this project, and we are waiting for the Heritage impact statement, which should be completed by the end of the week. Once it's done, we will submit the project for approvals and exemptions with the Department of Heritage.
AGPlot: The tender for this exciting project that includes garden beds, trellises, irrigation, outdoor covered classroom space, garden sheds, and fruit trees is currently out. We are looking forward to receiving submissions soon.
Upper Luck: Once Upper Paterson is completed, we will commence this project. The tender documentation will commence shortly.
Yarning Circle: The design stage of this project is complete, and a contractor has been engaged to start the works. We expect the project to be completed by the end of March.
Paterson House Shutter Replacement: This project is at the final stages of completion.
Multipurpose Court: The court is now complete and we are researching and obtaining quotes for custom netting for the eastern side of the court.
In addition to these projects, we have also identified several capital projects still to commence for 2023. These include investigating solar options for the school, putting overhead data and fire cabling into underground cabling, updating the asbestos registers, updating evacuation diagrams across the school, and updating signage across the school. We have also started initial meetings regarding the external infrastructure with local council and engineers for the Stop Drop Go Zone.
We are committed to keeping you informed about the progress of these capital works projects. Please stay tuned for further updates as we continue to work towards providing the best possible facilities for our school community. Thank you for your continued support!
Catering and Canteen
As we begin the new school term, we would like to update you on some exciting news from our facilities and catering departments. Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to ensure that our school is running smoothly, and that our students are receiving the best possible experience.
Our catering department is committed to providing delicious meals for both boarding and day students, as well as catering for all internal events held at the School. We are also making an effort to celebrate as many calendared theme days as possible this year, so be sure to keep an eye out on the menu uploaded to the website.
This week, our students were treated to a romantic Valentines Day dinner, where they sat at a fully dressed table with pink mood lighting and some of the greatest love songs playing in the background. The three-course menu featured vegetable gyozas for entrée, reef and beef for mains (steak and prawns), and finished with chocolate mousse and strawberries for dessert.
To ensure that our boarding students feel at home, our Chef meets regularly with the boarding student food committee to gather feedback and requests for the upcoming menus or special events. We take pride in the fact that our team is always looking for ways to enhance the student experience, and we will continue to do our best to provide the highest quality of service.
