Girls Grammar Sports Stars doing Big Things:
Queensland Netball Selection
Hard work and determination have paid off for Ellie-Mai Brandenburg being named in the Queensland Secondary Schools 16-19 Years Netball Team after her exceptional performance at the State Titles on the Sunshine Coast at the end of April.
Ellie-Mai, also a member of the Girls Grammar QISSN team, has worked exceptionally hard over the last 12 months developing her individual fitness and skills. She is a wonderful role model for younger students and gives back to our club netball program coaching junior teams.
While there isn’t a National Titles to represent her state, as a part of her selection, Ellie-Mai will participate in Queensland Training Camps and will have access to the best coaches and professional players in the state to further develop her skills. Well Done!
PNG Squad Selection
Ralema Genaia, another of the Girls Grammar QISSN team members, was selected in the PNG National U21 Netball Squad. Ralema participated in a selection camp in Port Moresby in an effort to gain final selection in the PNG team to attend the World Youth Games in September. We are eagerly awaiting the final team announcement in June. Good luck for final selections!
Olympic Swimming Trials
Saphron Davis and Taylor Brock attended the National Age Swimming Championships and after a successful campaign, Saphron Davis has been selected to attend the Australian National Swimming Trials for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the 100m Butterfly. Amazing work Saphron!
