Rockhampton Girls Grammar Welcomes Boarders Back for Term 3

Welcome back for Term 3. The girls returned on Sunday for school on Monday. It was terrific to have the boarding houses full of love and laughter after our three week break.

The girls have returned to the grounds looking beautiful and new staff in the boarding houses. We welcome Nola Pontifex, Tarni Anderson and Mackenzie Winter to our boarding staff this term.

An exciting week to start the term saw our NAIDOC celebrations being at the forefront of our week. Our girls represented their families and culture beautifully at assembly on Wednesday.

This weekend we are looking forward to participating in a range of cultural activities that our indigenous families will be leading. We are privileged to have this opportunity for all of our boarders. It has been wonderful having our indigenous families here for these events.

Miss Rachel is starting yoga classes this Saturday, and we are really looking forward to these stress-relief and relaxation sessions. This will be beneficial for all of our girls especially as the school pressures increase for our senior girls over the next couple of months.

Next week is another full one, with the Rockhampton District Sports Carnival and Year 10 camp. Camp is an integral and compulsory part of our pastoral care program and the weather is perfect at the moment for a few days at the beach.

Wishing you all a wonderful term ahead.
