The RGGS Show Team's first event for the 2022 season was held at the Caves Show on Sunday, 24 April. Even though the weather was very trying for animals and people alike, we had some great success.
Our team consisted of 17 girls, 4 led steers and 1 led commercial heifer. Three of the five animals achieved placings in their (large) respective classes. Both our Junior Paraders and Junior Judges also achieved wonderful results. What a fantastic start to the season as we look forward to our next show at the Ridgelands Show on 28 May.
As part of the Cattle Club and Show Team program students have been offered the opportunity to visit Mr & Mrs Chapman’s property “Rowanlea” for a training day on Saturday 7 May. While in attendance the girls will be learning about animal selection, livestock handling, judging, animal behaviour and much more. Mr & Mrs Chapman have generously offered their time and expertise to provide further opportunities for our Show Team.
