Our RGGS Show Team hit the ground running this year so far, with many new members and cattle joining the gang. We have competed at numerous local shows including Marlborough, Baralaba, Ridgelands, Rocky and Mt Morgan. Along the way, we have had many incredible achievements and placings in both the cattle and parader classes, as well as in junior judging, both prime and stud.
Some of these successes include Rockhampton Girls Grammar School coming a close second (4 points difference) in the Rockhampton High Schools competition, and our steers taking out the top place in most of their classes at Rocky. We also had some of our girls lucky enough to compete in the Regional Finals for both Prime Judging and Paraders, where the CQ Region representative for the EKKA would be selected. Tayla Williams and Clare Hills qualified for the Prime Judging Finals at Rocky and made us all so proud of their efforts. Following on, the Regional Finals for paraders took place at Mt Larcom, which saw fierce competition for Jess Chapman and Clare Hills. After much deliberation by the judge, Jess was awarded third out of fourteen. We are all extremely proud of these girls, as well as all the place getters throughout the year.
Our team is grateful for this amazing opportunity, and we are all so thankful for the generous support and donations by families and the community. Of course, Show Team would not be here without Mr & Mrs McBride, so thank you from all of us for all that you do. Thank you.
