THERE WAS A BUZZ ACROSS THE CAMPUS...
...as the clock drew closer to 3pm - the start of another Gaia Festival. As the crowds began to gather at the School upon the Athelstane Range, the expectation began to rise and many wondered ‘what will be the standout from this year’s festival?’ Will it be the beautiful harmonies of the choir, the mouth watering food, the amusing show rides, local picks from the markets or the artistic face painting?
We might be biased but to put it simply it was all of the above... and then some. The school truly lit up from the hours of 3-8pm and the festivities were endless.
This year’s Gaia Festival and Open Day fell on the closing day of Beef Australia and was the perfect finish to a huge week for Rockhampton and the region. This meant we had a lot of new faces from around the wider Central Queensland region who came along while they were in town for Beef. Or maybe they were here for Gaia Festival and Beef Australia was just an added incentive to make the trip in? 😉
We loved seeing the joy on peoples faces, the conversations that were had and the happy vibes that filled every corner of the campus. We were overwhelmed by the support of the community, and all who attended from near and far to join us and get a good glimpse into our Girls Grammar family.
The countdown is on for Gaia Festival 2019!
