On Wednesday 20 November we welcomed 68 new Girls Grammar girls for our annual Transition Day.
Students entering our primary school in 2025 spent the morning with their incoming teacher for next year; this is a great opportunity for our students as it provides them with a chance to familiarise themselves with their new school environment, easing anxieties and building confidence before starting. Meeting their new teachers and peers helps establish a sense of connection and belonging, fostering positive relationships early on. Students also learn about the daily routine and expectations making the move to a new school feel exciting and manageable. This early exposure helps set a positive tone for their future learning journey.
Students from 7 through to Year 11, joined us for a full day in Secondary. The rain didn’t dampen any spirits and McKeague Deck was abuzz with excitement and some nervous energy as our new students and their families arrived and were welcomed by their Girls Grammar buddies.
The day began with Sisters meetings. Students from Year 1 to Year 11 came together in their Sisters groups for fun and engaging activities, including 'getting to know you' games and Girls Grammar Trivia. Transition Day highlighted, yet again, the caring and inclusive culture that makes Girls Grammar so special. It’s always a joy to see new friendships forming and our community growing stronger!
We look forward to seeing all of our new students again for the start to their Girls Grammar education in 2025.
