Dear Families,
I am excited to welcome you back for a new term and extend a special warm welcome to our new students and families joining us in Term 3. I hope you had a restful break and are ready for an exciting and productive term ahead.
I would also like to remind you about our School Results Survey, which all parents and caregivers received an email about on Monday, 15 July via our external survey provider, MYP Corporation. The survey will be open for a two-week period until Monday, 29 July, with automated email reminders sent every three days to encourage participation during this time.
This annual survey is a key commitment by our school to seek feedback from parents, students, and staff in order to continuously improve and recognise areas where we excel. The survey is completely confidential, and there are no right or wrong answers. We ask that you answer honestly and with as much detail as possible to provide an accurate snapshot of how our school community views us at this point in time.
This is the third year we have engaged MYP Corporation to conduct the survey, and we remain committed to this process annually. Students have already utilised two of their Care sessions this week to complete the survey, and we hope to see a high percentage of parents and caregivers do so as well. Your feedback is crucial for our ongoing review and improvement efforts.
We were extremely proud of last year's parent survey responses, with 100% of key areas receiving the highest satisfaction score of 'excellent'. This sets a high standard for us to maintain and exceed in the future. Analysis of survey data from 2022 to 2023 showed improvements in leadership and direction, teaching standards, student transition, learning and extension, values and culture, learning environment, and parent engagement.
In 2024, we aim to increase the number of parents participating in the survey. Last year, we received responses from 230 out of 574 eligible respondents from 307 families, equating to a 40% response rate. In 2022, we received responses from 227 out of 531 eligible respondents from 289 families, equating to a 42% response rate. We understand that in some families, only one parent may complete the survey on behalf of the family; however, the more feedback we receive, the better we can understand and address your needs.
On behalf of the Executive Team and the entire school, I would like to thank you in advance for taking the 15 minutes to engage in this vital piece of feedback for our school. Your ongoing commitment to your daughter's education at Rockhampton Girls Grammar School is greatly appreciated.
