Years 5-12 Interhouse Swimming Carnival
The energy was electric, the water churned with excitement, and the spirit of friendly rivalry was alive at this year's Interhouse Swimming Carnival on Friday. With house colours proudly on display and an undeniable buzz of enthusiasm, our school community came together for a day of athleticism, teamwork, and celebration.
From lightning-fast sprints to gruelling individual medleys, our students put on an incredible showcase of skill, endurance, and determination. The competition was fierce, particularly in the 16-year and Opens divisions, where the races were nail-bitingly close. In the 16-year category, the battle for age champion was incredibly tight, with only five points separating the top three swimmers. The arrival of new students this year also added an extra edge to the competition, bringing fresh talent into the pool and setting the stage for some record-breaking performances. Several long-standing records were shattered, highlighting the exceptional abilities of our swimmers.

Beyond the competition, the carnival was a true celebration of sportsmanship. From encouraging cheers to congratulatory high-fives, the day was filled with moments that reflected the core values of respect, resilience, and camaraderie. The poolside atmosphere was electric, as students, staff, and spectators supported one another, embodying the true spirit of the event.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated teachers, staff, and student volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day a success. Their efforts ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
As the final races wrapped up, the overall competition between Williams and Downs remained incredibly close. At the halfway mark, Downs held a narrow two-point lead. However, after a series of outstanding performances in the 200m individual medley and relay events, they managed to pull ahead, securing victory by just 11 points.
