The Prep year provides an important bridge between home and school and a learning environment aimed at reducing some of the difficulties associated with starting full-day schooling during the crucial first year of literacy and numeracy learning.

Your daughter's teacher will ensure that the curriculum takes into consideration her individual needs and differences in a flexible learning environment. She will work alongside children as a facilitator and co-constructor of their learning, providing a stimulating, balanced and dynamic curriculum, which develops and maintains a positive attitude towards learning and encouraging a love of learning. It is an objective of Prep to ensure that students regard learning and school as a fun, exciting and rewarding experience.

Curriculum
OUR
The Prep to Year 3 Curriculum focuses on the key learning areas, highlighting the basic building blocks of literacy and numeracy skills. The key learning areas are Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) (History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship), Arts, Technology and Physical Activity. Class teachers are responsible for literacy, numeracy, HASS and Science, while specialist teachers adopt other areas such as Physical Education, Languages and The Arts. Private tuition in Speech and Drama, Instrumental Music and Singing is also available at the school.
